Who we are and our history
Bassetto Guesthouse is our family home, which we have chosen to open to the world. A place to host those who come to Italy for holidays or new life experiences; for those who want to discover an authentic Tuscany, outside the box; for a group of friends looking for a relaxing atmosphere to meet. “A home away from home” is what they often say about us, reflecting our way of being and welcoming you, whether it is for a holiday weekend or an extended stay for a coliving and coworking experience.
Fattoria
Originally in the 14th century, Bassetto was a monastery, always open to pilgrims passing through the Via Francigena, on their way to Rome. Here the monks produced wine and legend has it that one of Bassetto’s cellars had a tunnel that led into a nearby forest so that in the event of an assault the inhabitants of the village could escape quickly. In the 19th century, it was bought by the aristocratic Guicciardini family and transformed into a prosperous farm. A new large cellar was built and wine production reached 3,000 hectoliters per year at the beginning of the 20th century.
Guesthouse
In 1998 the family decided to convert the property into a guesthouse for travelers and bring it back to its original destination; stop for weary travelers on pilgrimage through the wonderful cities of Italy. Since then Bassetto Guesthouse has been among the first destinations among all the printed and online guides for independent travelers especially backpackers, happy to have found a place with a great location to return to in the evening after a tour, a place to relax as if you were at home.
Co-living
From short to long periods for those who love sharing spaces and experiences. In recent years we have renovated some parts of the villa to create rooms and apartments, with independent kitchen and bathroom facilities. We did it to open our doors not only to travelers during the summer, but to anyone looking for a relaxing environment from which to work or live their study experience in Italy.
Team
At Bassetto you will meet people who love to travel and make new friends, to talk to and exchange stories and ideas for your next projects and travel destinations.

First there was the book of dedications written in pen then came the online reviews. In any case, we keep them all because they best tell how you feel at Bassetto Guesthouse.
