Things to Know about Co Living
Do you have any doubts or questions about coliving? Find the answer by consulting our FAQ.
What does “Coliving” mean?
Coliving is a modern form of accommodation that allows those who live there to have their own privacy, their own spaces, but to share some spaces, activities, interests, values and intentions with the other tenants. It’s a new take on an old idea, envisioned by the generation of millennials who value collaboration, social networking, and the sharing economy.
Coliving was already part of Bassetto’s philosophy. We have always wanted to be a wonderful place to feel at home. Our homes consist of shared or private bedrooms and shared common spaces. It is only in recent years that we have invested to give more privacy to some of our rooms, complete with kitchens and greater independence from other spaces.
What are the shared spaces?
At your disposal you will always find a fully equipped kitchen, a library room, a shared work area and a laundry room. Outside you will have a swimming pool and garden, hammock, gym, relaxation room, bicycles and other services. We are renovating part of Bassetto in the cultural area for events that we can create locally for interaction with the local community.
How big are the rooms?
In the standard rooms there is space for a double bed (140×200), a desk with chair, a bedside table with lamp, a custom wardrobe and, depending on the size, a mini kitchen or kitchen. We also have rooms with single beds in case of sharing; and rooms with private or shared bathroom. The bathroom always has a shower and sink, no tub. The rooms can also be transformed into a co-living apartment, in case friends of up to 4 people want to share their space.
How many people can stay in the structure?
Bassetto Guesthouse has 3 separate housing blocks that can accommodate up to 60 people in total, including rooms with private bathroom, beds with shared bathroom and the apartments in the villa. The three structures share the common areas, such as the garden and the swimming pool.
Is it a safe place?
Each room / apartment has its own personal key. The entire property is fenced and has reserved areas for parking customers’ cars, bicycles and motorbikes. It is also possible to request a safe in your room or, if necessary, to rely on that of the reception which will keep the most important documents safe.
What is the distance from the town?
Bassetto Guesthouse is very close to Certaldo. A 15-minute walk away are the first shops in the town where you can basically find everything for your stay: from the grocery store, bars and cafes to have a breakfast with cappuccino & croissant but also a pharmacy, a pizzeria, a playground etc.
Going forward on the same road, there is the historic center of Certaldo where the railway station, banks, supermarkets, post offices, schools and all the main services are located.
Is the facility open all year round?
Bassetto Guesthouse is open all year round. Some structures are partially closed in winter as they do not have central heating; therefore in the winter season we can guarantee 20 beds.
Who runs Bassetto Guesthouse?
The manager and staff of the Guesthouse are multilingual and international, assisted by the owner Francesco, founder of the Guesthouse and intrepid traveler who firmly believes in the concept of “home away from home”.
How much does it cost to stay at Bassetto Guesthouse?
The daily prices you see on the site refer to the summer / spring season and refer to short stays; the prices and conditions of co-living life are flexible and customized on a case-by-case basis.
